Solution 11799: Using Memory Variables on TI Graphing Calculators.
How do I use memory variables on TI graphing calculators?
The instructions demonstrate how to use memory variables on TI graphing calculators properly. Use the STO> function to store a value to a variable and the RCL function to recall a value stored to a variable.
Procedure for the TI-73 and TI-73 Explorer:
To store a value to the variable:
1) From the home screen, input the value
2) Press [STO>][2nd][TEXT]
3) Select the variable and press [ENTER]
4) Scroll to Done and press [ENTER]
5) Press [ENTER] and the value is stored to the variable
To recall the variable's content:
1) Press [2nd][RCL][2nd][TEXT]
2) Select the variable to which the value was stored and press [ENTER]
3) Scroll to Done and press [ENTER]
4) Press [ENTER] to recall the content of the variable
Please Note: To clear the variable's content, store zero to the variable.
Procedure for the TI-82, TI-83 family, TI-84 Plus family, TI-Nspire Handheld in TI-84 Plus Mode, TI-85 and TI-86:
To store a value to the variable:
1) From the home screen, input the value
2) Press [STO>][ALPHA] variable name [ENTER]
To recall the value stored:
1) Press [2nd][RCL] variable name [ENTER]
Please Note: To clear the variable's content, store zero to the variable.
Procedure for the TI-Nspire CAS Handheld:
To store a value to the variable:
1) From the home screen select the variable desired
2) Then press [CTRLl]+[STO-VAR] then press [ENTER]
To recall a variable that is stored:
1) Press the variable name then press [ENTER]
Please Note: To clear the variable's value:
1) Press [0] for the value
2) Press [CTRL]+[STO VAR] then enter the variable and press [ENTER]
Procedure for the TI-89 family, TI-92 family, and Voyage™ 200 graphing calculators:
To store a value to the variable:
1) From the home screen, input the value
2) Press [STO>] variable [ENTER] (On the TI-89 family, press [STO>][alpha] variable [ENTER])
To recall the value stored:
1) Press [2nd][RCL] variable [ENTER] (On the TI-89 family, press [STO>][alpha] variable [ENTER])
Please Note: To clear the variable's content, input DelVar then variable's name (i.e. DelVar X).
