How do I calculate the transpose of a matrix using the TI-83 Plus family and TI-84 Plus family of graphing calculators?
The instructions below will display how to find the determinant of a matrix using the TI-83 Plus family and TI-84 Plus family of graphing calculators.
To enter the matrix:
1) Press the [2ND] key and then press the [x-1] key to go to the matrix menu.
2) Next press the [right arrow] key twice to select the EDIT menu, then press the [ENTER] key to edit matrix A.
3) Next press the [2] key, then press the [ENTER] key, then press the [2] key and then press the [ENTER] key to set the dimensions of the matrix to 2x2, next press the [1] key, then press the [ENTER] key, then press the [2] key, then press the [ENTER] key, then press the [3] key, then press the [ENTER] key, then press the [4] key and last press the [ENTER] key to input the 4 elements of the matrix.
4) Finally press the [2ND] key and then press the [MODE] key to quit the matrix editor and return to the home screen.
Next to find the transpose of the matrix you created:
1) On the home screen, press the [CLEAR] key to clear any existing entries, if any, then press the [2ND] key and the [x-1] key and then press the [ENTER] key to select matrix A and place it on the home screen.
2) Next press the [2ND] key and then the [x-1] key to go to the matrix menu, then press the [right arrow] key to select the MATH menu, last press the [2] key to select transpose.
3) This will bring the transpose symbol after your matrix a.
4) Last press the [ENTER] key to display the answer.
