How do I calculate one-variable statistics using the TI-89 family, TI-92 family and Voyage 200 graphing calculators?

The example below will demonstrate how to calculate one-variable statistics on the TI-89 family, TI-92 family and Voyage 200.

The following values will be used to calculate one-variable statistics in this example:

X values = {5, 9, 7, 4, 6, 250, 35, 100, 84}

To calculate:

1) Press [APPS] [6] [3] (If the Apps Desktop is on, press [APPS], select Data/Matrix Editor, and choose [3].)
2) Press the down arrow twice.
3) Press [2nd] [alpha].
4) In the box beside Variable:, type a variable name (e.g. TEST).
5) Press [2nd] [alpha] after the variable name has been typed.
6) Press [ENTER] [ENTER].
7) Enter numbers 5, 9, 7, 4, 6, 250, 35, 100, and 84 under c1 by pressing [5] [ENTER] [9] [ENTER] etc.
8) Press [F5] to bring up the main\test Calculate screen.
9) Press the right arrow, select OneVar and press [ENTER]
10) Press the down arrow and input c1.
11) Press [ENTER] [ENTER].

The graphing calculator should have the STAT VARS window displayed as shown:
